If you’re on the North Shore this weekend, you finally can stop by and visit Mister Rogers.

The circular memorial and its 11-foot-tall bronze statue of Mister Rogers, which was opened in 2009, had been closed since last summer for a maintenance overhaul costing about $500,000 that includes new lighted railing and other upgrades.
Friday morning, the statue, framed by old Manchester Bridge pier and set off by colorful tulips and other spring blooms, seemed to look over the Allegheny River at Pittsburgh and the Point, as taped music from the PBS show played.
