TV Q&A: KDKA’s ‘Hidden Treasures’ delayed

Post-Gazette TV writer Rob Owen answers reader questions online every Friday in Tuned In Journal blog at post-gazette.com/tv. Here’s a selection of recent queries.

Q: I brought an old Shirley Temple doll to an event at the Heinz History Center in August to be appraised and possibly be featured on “Pittsburgh’s Hidden Treasures” on KDKA-TV.

I was told the show would air in fall 2016, but don’t see any information on the KDKA website. Can you look into this?  — MAUREEN, SQUIRREL HILL

May 29 at 7:30 p.m.

June 19 at 7:30 p.m.

July 17 at 7:30 p.m.

Q: In regards to the television show “Drunk History,” found on Comedy Central, are the storytellers really drunk?  — MICHELE, GIBSONIA

Rob: Yes, they are. And it’s a pretty specific filming process, too.

Q: I wanted to know, on ABC’s “Great American Baking Show,” why Antoinette needed to leave mid-production and if everything is OK. The show mentioned that she had to leave overnight one night for personal reasons.  — JUSTIN, SQUIRREL HILL

Rob: According to a Yahoo report, Antoinette posted this message to her Facebook page accompanied by photos of her father: “During filming I lost the most important man in my world, my father. I will press forward and continue this baking journey. I know without a doubt that’s what he would want for me.”

Q: Where can I find the “Perry Mason” DVD mentioned in your Shop Holiday gift guide?  — RUTH VIA PHONE

Rob: TV shows on DVD are almost always available at Amazon.com. But if you’re looking at a brick-and-mortar store, it might be hit or miss to find more obscure titles.  I always advise starting with Best Buy or Barnes & Noble. If they don’t carry the specific title you seek, ask if they can order it for you.
