The buzzy off-Broadway hit "That Golden Girls Show! A Puppet Parody" comes to the Byham Theater, Downtown, for three shows Oct. 11-12, with tickets on sale at 9 a.m. Friday, Aug. 23.
“That Golden Girls Show!” takes us back to the TV comedy’s “sassy” Miami house, circa 1985, where Dorothy, Sophia, Blanche and Rose live out their golden years with “cheesecake, laughter, Jazzercise, shoulder pads, sex and the elegant art of the quick-witted put-down.” The theatrical work takes a page from the Tony-winning hit “Avenue Q,” which parodied a beloved show (“Sesame Street”), had humans and their puppets in full view, and included warnings about “strong adult language and themes.”
Tickets are $25-$50 at trustarts.org or 412-456-6666.
