Umphrey’s McGee (Stage AE): The Chicago-based jam-rock band returns to the North Shore with Kris Myers, who was out for most of 2023 due to rotator cuff surgery, back on drums. The group, formed at the University of Notre Dame in 1997, debuted in 1998 with the humorously titled “Greatest Hits Vol. III” and performed at the first annual Bonnaroo festival in 2002. In 2022, the band released its 14th album “Asking for a Friend” and just recently added a cover of David Bowie’s “Let’s Dance” featuring retired legend Huey Lewis and Dave Matthews Band saxophonist Jeff Coffin. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $35/$40; axs.com.

Machine Head (Roxian): The groove metal band from Oakland, California invades the Roxian Theatre in McKees Rocks on the Slaughter the Martour with Fear Factory, Orbit Culture and Gates To Hell. The quartet is touring behind its 10th album and first concept record, “Of Kingdom and Crown,” set in a futuristic wasteland where its main characters take to killing sprees after the death of their loved ones. The show is at 6:30 p.m. Tickets start at $43; livenation.com.

Stephen Kellogg (City Winery Pittsburgh): The singer-songwriter described by Rolling Stone as “John Prine fronting the Heartbreakers” pays a visit to the Winery on his Sit Down & Stand-Up Tour. The folk-rocker who first came along in 2003 with the Massachusetts-based Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers will present an evening of songs, stories and stand-up. The show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $30; citywinery.com/pittsburgh.
