Best Pittsburgh concerts this week: Post Malone, Little Feat, Meshuggah, Nick Mason and more

TUESDAY

Meshuggah (Stage AE): It will sound like jackhammers on the North Shore when the progressive metal band from Sweden arrives, touring behind its ninth album, “Immutable.” “The title Immutable fits perfectly for where we are as a band,” guitarist Mårten Hagström stated in a social media post. “We’re older now. Most of us are in our 50s now, and we’ve settled into who we are. Even though we’ve been experimenting all along, I also think we’ve been the same since day one...We do what we do, and we don’t change.” With Converge and Torche. Doors at 6 p.m. $38.50/$42; axs.com.

Sierra Hull (Thunderbird Music Hall): The bluegrass singer-songwriter/mandolinist/guitarist from Tennessee is the real deal, having won the International Bluegrass Music Association’s Mandolin Player of the Year award three years in a row. She displayed her skills at the Three Rivers Arts Festival and returns now for a more intimatae club gig in Lawrenceville. 8 p.m. $20; thunderbirdmusichall.com.

The Gaslight Anthem (Roxian): The heartland rockers from New Jersey are back from a four-year hiatus, the first show being a surprise gig in Jersey on the final night of frontman Brian Fallon’s three-night solo run. Fallin noted on social media, “I am very pleased to announce to you all that The Gaslight Anthem is returning to full time status as a band. We’re also beginning to write new songs for what will be our sixth LP. We’re looking forward to the future and seeing you all again. We want to thank you for staying with us.” With Tigers Jaw. 8 p.m. $49; ticketmaster.com.

WEDNESDAY

Post Malone (PPG Paints Arena): This show is up in the air as the R&B superstar behind such hits as “Rockstar” and “Circles” is still recovering from the falling through a hole in the stage in St. Louis. He canceled his Boston show over the weekend due to “breathing difficulties.” This is the Twelve Carat Tour, supporting his chart-topping fourth album “Twelve Carat Toothache,” which featured guest ranging from Fleet Foxes to Roddy Ricch, his opener on this show. 8 p.m. $75; ticketmaster.com.

Little Feat (Carnegie of Homestead Music Hall): Bill Payne, Kenny Gradney and Sam Clayton remain from the 1977 lineup of the Southern rock band that recorded the classic live album “Waiting for Columbus,” which they will play in full on this 45th anniversary tour. Payne told the PG, “Some people wonder, ‘Well, is it just a Little Feat cover band? Little Feat being a cover band for themselves?’ … But I think when people come to hear it, they go, ‘God, I hope this is good,’ and then when you look at their faces, it’s like, ‘Well, it is that good. It’s great.’ And they're just dancing and having a great time. The reception has just been wonderful.” With Miko Marks. 8 p.m. $54.75 to $84.75; LibraryMusicHall.com.

FRIDAY

Nick Mason’s Saucerful of Secrets (Benedum): The Pink Floyd drummer and co-founder arrives on The Echoes Tour playing the music of early, pre-”Dark Side” Floyd. His band consists of Spandau Ballet guitarist Gary Kemp, longtime Pink Floyd touring bassist Guy Pratt, guitarist Lee Harris and keyboardist Dom Beken. 8 p.m. Tickets start at $64.75; trustarts.org.

SATURDAY

ANTIfest (Roxian): Pittsburgh’s world-traveling political punks Anti-Flag return home for a show at the Roxian in McKees Rocks with Four Year Strong, Heart Attack Man, Microwave, Catbite and Dissidente. Anti-Flag just released a video for “Imperialism,” another high-energy single (with Ashrita Kumar of Pinkshift pitching in on vocals) from the forthcoming album, “Lies They Tell Our Children,” coming Jan. 6. 5 p.m. $25.50; ticketmaster.com.

SUNDAY

Robert Fripp, in conversation (Oaks Theater): During lockdown, Robert Fripp gave us a weekly spectacle via social media with Toyah & Robert’s Sunday Lunch. Now the guitar legend and founding member of King Crimson comes to the Oaks Theater in Oakmont for “An Evening of Conversation with David Single,” Crimson’s producer and author of “The Vicar Chronicles.” It begins at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $55; eventbrite.com.
