The Fitz & the Tantrums concert on July 7 is being moved from the Starlight Drive-In in Butler to the new Allegheny Overlook stage at Fort Duquesne Blvd & 6th Street, Downtown.
The location is currently being used as a side stage for the Dollar Bank Three Rivers Arts Festival. It also the site of “Pathway to Joy,” a colorful street mural by artist Janel Young.
The Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership will present free concerts there.
In early July, it will be gated to also become a ticketed venue, with a new stage, that will hold up to 1,000 people, according to promoter Brian Drusky, who anticipates doing several shows there this summer.
From the end of June through September, the Allegheny Overlook will serve as a Downtown Beer Garden, with beers from the Braddock-based Brew Gentlemen.
Gates will open at 6 p.m. with the show starting at 7 p.m. with opening act Colony House. General admission tickets will be available for $45 at DruskyEnt.com or Eventbrite.com. A limited Premium General Admission area will be available, which allows for access to a section closest to the stage.
All tickets previously purchased for the Starlight Drive-In performance will be honored.
