The trailer is out for “Music,” the directorial debut by pop sensation Sia that will star Murrysville actress/dancer Maddie Ziegler alongside Kate Hudson and Carnegie Mellon grad Leslie Odom Jr.
Sia also wrote the songs and screenplay for the musical drama, which is coming in February.
Sia’s eighth album, “Music - Songs From And Inspired By The Motion Picture,” will be released on Feb. 12, led by the new single “Hey Boy.”
Ziegler, the 18-year-old actress/dancer who came to fame on “Dance Moms,” plays the character of Music, the autistic half-sister of Hudson’s Zu in a film that is described as being about “the healing power of love and the importance of community.”
Her collaborations with the Australian singer date back to 2014, when at 11, she was featured in the music video for “Chandelier.”
Ziegler is also set to star as Velma in the remake of “West Side Story,” coming in December 2021.
