Voice competition winners announced

Opera Theater of Pittsburgh announced the winners of the sixth annual Mildred Miller International Voice Competition, held last weekend at the Mellon Institute and Frick Art & Historical Center:

1st place: tenor Alasdair Kent, 29, of Philadelphia.

2nd place: soprano Chelsea Basler, 32, of Boston.

3rd place: soprano Jacquelyn Stucker, 27, of Boston.

Audience favorite: tenor Jonathan Tetelman, 28, of New York City.

Prizes include cash awards and contracts with the company for the 2017 SummerFest season.
