AT THE MOVIES
“Megalopolis”: Francis Ford Coppola’s long-ago-conceived, self-financed, and much-talked-about science-fiction epic is set in a huge decaying city called New Rome, where Adam Driver is an architect who can stop time. The cast also boasts Nathalie Emmanuel, Giancarlo Esposito, Aubrey Plaza, Jon Voight and Talia Shire.
“The Wild Robot”: Animated adaptation of Peter Brown’s book is the tale of a robot (voiced by Lupita Nyong’o) who crash-lands on an island and makes what at first is an uneasy alliance with a fox (Pedro Pascal) to care for a just-hatched gosling (Kit Connor) also has a heart.
"Despicable Me 4": Supervillain Gru and family have to go into witness protection after a threat from a rival (voiced by Will Ferrell) in this box-office hit from Illumination.

"Bad Boys: Ride or Die": Will Smith and Martin Lawrence return for a fourth installment as Miami detectives Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett, ready to battle drug cartels and accusations of corruption as they reckon with their personal lives and mortality along the way.
"Longlegs": A young female FBI agent tracks down a mysterious serial killer in this thriller from writer-director Osgood Perkins, son of "Psycho" star Anthony Perkins. Featuring Maika Monroe and Nicolas Cage.
"The Exorcism": Horror flick starring Russell Crowe as an actor cast in a remake of "The Exorcist" after the lead actor's mysterious death.
"In a Violent Nature": Slasher movie told from the perspective of the killer, rather than that of the hapless victims who are picked off one by one in the woods.
"Touch": Icelandic drama in which a man with a terminal diagnosis attempts to reconnect with his first love, while also revealing how their relationship unfolded 50 years ago.
"Before Dawn": A young Australian man ventures from the outback to the battlefields of Western Europe in this WWII war film.
"Here for Blood": Horror-comedy that finds a man covering a babysitting gig for his girlfriend, only to have an evil cult show up uninvited.
"Paradox Effect": A woman has no choice but to help a criminal after witnessing a shooting as he races to finish his job in this action flick. Starring Olga Kurylenko and Harvey Keitel.
"Peter Five Eight": Kevin Spacey plays an assassin who has tracked a woman to a small town in this thriller.
"We Are Zombies": Horror comedy following a group of friends in a city full of mostly mindless but not homicidal living dead.

"Mountains": Set in Miami’s Little Haiti neighborhood, a Haitian immigrant confronts the reality of gentrification working as a housing demolition crew member.
"Beezel": There's something wrong with the house in this horror flick, and it may be the ancient witch living underfoot.

Luke Bryan, “Mind of a Country Boy”: The eighth album from the five-time CMA Entertainer of the Year, running 14 tracks, was produced by the father-song team of Jeff and Jody Stevens.
Billy Strings, “Highway Prayers”: The fourth album from the bluegrass Grammy winner from Michigan was produced with Jon Brion (Fiona Apple, Mac Miller, Aimee Mann) and consists of 20 original songs including the single “Leadfoot.”
Soul Asylum, “Slowly but Shirley”: The 13th album from the Minneapolis band best known for “Runaway Train” was produced by Steve Jordan (Rolling Stones, John Mayer), who worked on their 1990 album “And the Horse They Rode In On.”
Van Morrison, “New Arrangements and Duets”: The 46th album from the Irish legend features songs recorded between 2018 and 2019 with Willie Nelson, Joss Stone, Curtis Stigers and Kurt Elling.

“Killer Heat” (Prime Video): Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Richard Madden, Shailene Woodley star in this film adaptation of Jo Nesbo's short story “The Jealousy Man” set on the island of Crete.
“Nobody Wants This” (Netflix): Kristen Bell and Adam Brody star in this 10-episode series about an unlikely romance between an agnostic woman and an unconventional rabbi.
“People's Choice Country Awards” (NBC, 8 p.m.): Airing live from the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, Tenn., this two-hour special honors country music with performances and tributes from some of the biggest names in today's country music scene, along with fan-voted awards. Shania Twain hosts.
Cowboys vs. Giants (Prime Video, 8:15 p.m.): The Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants have each had their share of disappointment in the young NFL season. Both will be desperate for a divisional win.
“Doctor Odyssey” (ABC, 9 p.m.): Max (Joshua Jackson) is the new onboard doctor for a luxury cruise ship where the staff works hard and plays with all hands on deck. This new procedural mixes medical emergencies with luxurious locales and beautiful guests. Don Johnson also stars.
“The Old Man” (FX, 10 p.m.): After being forced back into the world he left behind 30 years prior, former CIA operative Dan Chase (Jeff Bridges) joins forces with nemesis-turned-ally Harold Harper (John Lithgow) to save his daughter (Alia Shawkat) from a terrorist cell.
“Grey's Anatomy” (ABC, 10 p.m.)”: The drama never stops for the doctors of Grey Sloan Memorial as they balance the life-or-death decisions of their jobs with the intricacies of their personal lives. This season, Natalie Morales joins the series as Dr. Monica Beltran.

“Apartment 7A” (Paramount+): Julia Garner, Dianne Wiest and Kevin McNally star in this prequel to the classic horror film “Rosemary's Baby.”
“Will & Harper” (Netflix): Documentary follows Will Ferrell on a cross-country road trip with a lifelong friend.
“Wolfs” (Apple TV+): “Ocean's 11” stars George Clooney and Brad Pitt team up in this comedic action-thriller following two professional fixers forced to work together.
Pirates vs. Yankees: The Pirates take on the most storied team in baseball in a three-game away series. 7:05 p.m. (SportsNet Pittsburgh). Games follow at 1:05 p.m. Saturday and 3:05 p.m. Sunday.
“The Braxtons” (WE, 9:30 p.m.): After a season which saw the Braxtons explore the state of their lives since Traci's passing, the family has found new ways to both struggle and survive. In this season finale, the family comes together to highlight some of the most Braxt-rageous moments.
“Social Studies” (FX, 10 p.m.): Filmed over a school year, this documentary follows a diverse group of LA teens who open up their lives and phones, offering a look into how social media has changed childhood from dealing with beauty standards, racism, sexuality, bullying and more.

Georgia vs. Alabama (ABC, 7:30 p.m.): The Georgia Bulldogs look to get their win back after losing to the Alabama Crimson Tide at last year's SEC Championship game.
Sunday
2024 Presidents Cup (WPXI, noon): Live from the Royal Montreal Golf Club, the top golfers from the U.S. battle it out against the best from around the world in the final day of competition. Jim Furyk and Mike Weir serve as captain for Team USA and Team International, respectively.
“The Simpsons” (WPGH, 8 p.m.): It's not only the 36 Season premiere, but also Bart's birthday! Everyone's favorite kid will be celebrating with a shocking party that just might forever change Springfield. Guest stars expected this season include Conan O'Brien and Tom Hanks.
“The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon” (AMC, 9 p.m.): Picking up where last season left off, this premiere follows Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride) as they confront old demons - literally. As Carol fights to find her friend, Daryl struggles with his decision to stay in France.
“The Summit” (KDKA, 9 p.m.): This new reality competition series follows 16 strangers on an once-in-a-lifetime journey through the treacherous New Zealand Alps. Their backpacks contain an equal share of $1 million, which the group can only win by completing their trip in 14 days.
