Steelers sign 2 players for Sunday's game

With two veteran defensive linemen questionable to play on Sunday, the Steelers signed defensive tackle Johnny Maxey from their practice squad Saturday, as well as cornerback Al-Hajj Shabazz.

To make room for the two, they released halfback Daryl Richardson and placed safety Shamarko Thomas on injured reserve.

Defensive ends Stephon Tuitt (knee) and Ricardo Mathews (ankle) are questionable with injuries for the Steelers game against Baltimore at Heinz Field.

Maxey, an undrafted rookie who signed with the Steelers after the draft, spent the entire season on their practice squad. He played at Mars Hill. Shabazz played in six games this season, five with the Steelers and one with the Houston Texans, who claimed him off waivers Dec. 5 after being released by the Steelers. The Texans released him Dec. 17 and he re-signed to the Steelers practice squad.

Stephon Tuitt applies some pressure Nov. 20 against the Browns.
