The Pirates claimed Moll, 25, from the Oakland Athletics on Monday. It’s unclear when the Pirates placed him back on waivers. In his September debut with the Athletics, he recorded a 10.80 ERA in 6.2 innings over 11 games.
With the move, the Pirates now have three open spots on their 40-man roster. Steven Brault, Jack Leathersich, Felipe Rivero and Nik Turley are the remaining left-handed pitchers on the roster.
