A driver whose vehicle got stuck on train tracks in Manchester last night managed to escape from the car before a freight train crashed into it.
The driver, who was not identified, was uninjured, Pittsburgh police said.
At 7:09 p.m., the driver was attempting to turn around and got caught on the Norfolk Southern Railway tracks near the Beaver and Island Avenue intersection, police said. The train was unable to stop in time and hit the car.
Norfolk Southern and city police are investigating. There were no new developments as of this morning.
