Authorities arrest fugitive sex offender
Friday, July 03, 2009

Allegheny County sheriff's deputies said they caught a "Most Wanted" fugitive last night when they arrested a man who, they said, failed to register as a sex offender under Megan's Law.

Spencer Spiker, 37, of West Homestead, pleaded guilty a month ago to charges of indecent assault of a person younger than 13 and endangering the welfare of a child, stemming from a June 2008 incident.

Deputies searching for him last night got no response when they repeatedly knocked on the door of his home, but found him inside when they eventually gained entry.

Mr. Spiker was arrested without incident and was being held in the Allegheny County Jail without bond.
