The United Way of Allegheny County announced the partner agencies that will receive Impact Fund allocations for 2009-10.

The Impact Fund is designed to support Pittsburgh's most critical needs. In this particular round, about $2 million will be split among 18 agencies over the next 12 months. The programs benefit financially struggling individuals and families, as well as youth organizations, a press release said today.

The selected programs will "prevent eviction, foreclosures and loss of jobs, among many other critical services," said President Bob Nelkin in the press release.

The organizations that assist struggling adults and families include ACTION-Housing, Community Human Services Corp., Family Services of Western Pennsylvania, Jewish Family and Children's Services, North Hills Community Outreach, Travelers Aid, Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh, and Veterans Leadership Program.

Programs that benefit youth include Boy Scouts, Family Services of Western Pennsylvania, Human Services Center Corp., Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh, Boys and Girls Clubs, Family Resources, Hill House Association, Turtle Creek Valley Mental Health and Mental Retardation, Wireless Neighborhoods, and YouthWorks.
