BRADENTON, Fla. -- Outfielder Jose Tabata, one of the Pirates' top three prospects, is out with a right shoulder injury of unknown severity. He has been sent for an MRI, and the team should have further word tomorrow.
General manager Neal Huntington described it as "some soreness" and added, "We'll see how it is."
Tabata, acquired in the Xavier Nady trade, was participating in major league camp and was 0 for 3 with three walks in Grapefruit League play.
