The street outside McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurant was party central Sept. 3 for the third annual Savor Pittsburgh: A Celebration of Cuisine to benefit the Lupus Center for Excellence. The restaurant sponsored the food fest, which drew 500 people interested in mingling and munching, while some of Pittsburgh's most talented chefs competed for the title of Best Dish. Cocktails, dining and dancing made for a great evening under the tent. Dish of the Year went to Country Fried Skate, Chef Kevin Sousa of the Red Room Cafe & Lounge. The event raised approximately $30,000. Chef Sousa also won Best Entree for his Chicken Skin-Crusted Walleye. Best Dessert, called Drunken Monkey, went to Chef Christian Mayrhofer of McCormick & Schmick's Piatt Place location.
The all important People's Choice Award ended up in a tie between Chef Mayrhofer's Drunken Monkey and Chef Christopher Jones of Tusca Global Tapas for his Scallop Trio entree.
