HILL DISTRICT: Church Women United, an ecumenical group, is accepting reservations for its second annual Human Rights Celebration on Saturday at St. Benedict the Moor Church, Crawford Street and Centre Avenue. The event, presented by the National Ecumenical Celebrations Committee, starts with a service at 10 a.m.; registration is at 9:30 a.m. It features singing and worshipping, and awards are to be presented to two community members for their human rights work benefitting children and youth. TOMORROW

CARRICK: Stewart Avenue Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2810 Brownsville Road, is accepting registrations for From Globe to Glory vacation Bible school, to be held from 6 to 9 p.m. July 21-25. Classes are for children age 2 through grade 6. Older students can volunteer as helpers. Dinner is provided nightly and a free will offering is to be taken. To register, call 412-881-0171.

SQUIRREL HILL: The Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy sponsors A Walk in the Woods at 6:30 p.m. at Frick Park, starting at the Frick Environmental Center, off Beechwood Boulevard. Some hikes are on uneven terrain with moderate difficulty. Join knowledgeable park docents and learn about park history, activities and ecology. For more information, call 412-682-7275.

SQUIRREL HILL: The Neighborhood Legal Services Association offers a presentation to describe its services from 10:15 to 11 a.m. at The Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh's Squirrel Hill branch, Forbes and Murray avenues. The association offers assistance with family issues involving visitation and divorce, housing problems such as wrongful evictions and mortgage foreclosures, and personal financial crises. NORTH SIDE: Master falconer Earl Shriver, of Baden, conducts a presentation on birds of prey from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the Western Pennsylvania Humane Society, 1101 Western Ave. Live birds, including a hawk, an eagle and a falcon, are a part of this natural history program. POLISH HILL: The Polish Hill Civic Association presents Art What You Got, the first-ever Polish Hill arts festival, from noon to 7 p.m. in front of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Brereton Street between Dobson and 30th streets. There are an estimated 35 artists displaying and selling original artwork and crafts such as jewelry, ceramics and photography, plus live music, hands-on tables, children's activities and Polish-themed food.
