Does Uncle Sam need a new look?

Continuing our series on gifts for our own beloved Uncle Sam as we celebrate our nation's birthday tomorrow, we turned to suggestions from residents of neighborhoods in the Route 51 corridor. Among them: Botox, a new outfit -- and a shave!

"A new hat and a little Botox. He's getting some wrinkles."

"A free gas card!"

-- John Novogurski, 28, Baldwin Borough, a software developer.

"A bag of fireworks and a pie with a flag on it."

-- Dale Hess, 57, South Park, a manager at Rose's Village Pub in that town.

"A terrible towel from the Steelers."

-- Marlene Glinski, 58, South Park, manager at Hot Shots Saloon in that town.

"A makeover. I'd definitely give him a new hat, a glittery one. I'd do the whole outfit in rhinestones and gems and all that stuff. We'll make him look like a rock star."

-- Erica Magill, 34, Jefferson Hills, owner of Premier Designs Jewelry, Jefferson Hills.

"A razor. He needs a shave."

-- Elyssa Chakiris, 22, Pleasant Hills, a server at Rock Bottom in Homestead.

"A cake with sparklers on it."

-- Susanne Powers, 51, Baldwin, operations manager at Esquire Deposition Services, Downtown.

"I need Uncle Sam to give ME money. Prices are outrageous and we need help from him. Nobody's doing anything about it. I wish he would."

"He needs us all to pull together and boost the morale of the country. We all need to band together this year and focus on the positive."
