A fire yesterday in Ross destroyed the Audio One Building, 2988 Babcock Blvd., along with two businesses housed there.

A passer-by spotted the blaze and called it in about 12:30 a.m., according to the shift commander at the Allegheny County 911 Center.

The fire started near the roof of the building, according to the county fire marshal's office.

County fire officials reported only minor injuries to several local firefighters, but said a guard dog on the premises was killed.

The fire marshal's office estimated the damage at $300,000. It is investigating the cause of the fire.
