Adams

The township police department will adopt a new schedule for its employees for a three-month trial period.

All full-time employees will change to a four-day work week with 10-hour shifts. The Adams supervisors Monday approved the trial schedule at the request of the police department.

Supervisors also approved the addition of Timothy Waibel as a part-time police officer. He has successfully completed the department's probationary period.

They also approved the hiring of part-time Officer Frank Evans.

• Supervisors approved spending up to $4,000 to buy and construct a township sign. The sign will be erected as part of an Eagle Scout project led by Brian Robinson.

• The Municipal Water Authority of Adams will conduct a flushing program July 7-11 and July 14-18 for Adams Ridge and Adams Pointe.

Lines in other areas of the township will be flushed during July 21-25, July 28-Aug. 1 and Aug. 4-8. Water may be discolored. The authority recommends customers test it before laundering or using large quantities. Contact the authority at 724-625-3166 if problems continue.

• Supervisors voted to send letters to the Butler County commissioners expressing their opposition to a proposed countywide wage tax collection system.
