FOR CHILDREN

Brighton -- Registration is in progress for a July 7-Aug. 15 summer camp program for special needs and other children at Lifesteps' Early Education Center, 138 Friendship Circle. Hours will be 9 to 11:30 a.m. weekdays. Full- and part-time schedules are available. Call 724-774-6494.

FUND-RAISERS

Industry -- The annual Poker Run for Lifesteps will be at noon Saturday at Luanne's Route 68 Food and Spirits, 2424 Midland Beaver Road. Cost is $15 each or $25 per couple. Registration begins at 10 a.m. There will be prizes, an auction, door prizes, dinner and entertainment. Call 724-774-6494.

Scott -- The annual Sam's Summer Splash fund-raiser will be at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Scott Township Pool. Admission is $5. Children younger than 4 will be admitted free. It includes music, games and refreshments. There also will be raffles and a ticket auction. Proceeds benefit the Samuel J. Foundation. For information, call 724-693-9901.

LIBRARIES

Moon -- A free women's self-defense class will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Moon Township Public Library, 1700 Beaver Grade Road. Class leaders will be a police officer and a defensive tactics master instructor. For information and registration, call 412-269-0334.

Robinson -- Evening family programs will begin at 7 p.m. Monday with the singing duo Two of a Kind at Robinson Township Library, 1000 Church Hill Road. Other programs in July will be a bug collection, a Carnegie Library of Natural History trunk show about bugs, a bug movie and a magician. For dates and details, call 412-787-3906.

SALES

Heidelberg -- Three Hierarchs Eastern Orthodox School, 1819 Ellsworth Ave., will have a garage sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. tomorrow and Saturday. A bake sale will be included on Saturday.

Moon -- A rummage sale, carwash and bake sale will be from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at West Hills Christian Church, 965 Thorn Run Road. All proceeds will benefit the West Hills Food Pantry.

SPECIAL INTEREST

Moon -- A motorcade will bring 110 soldiers who are returning from Iraq to a reunion with their families at Moon Area High School on Tuesday. The soldiers are members of the 316th ESC U. S. Reserves, based in Coraopolis.

The soldiers' route will be from University Boulevard at Route 60 along Beaver Grade Road to the high school. Supporters are asked to be in place along the route by 10:30 a.m.

Reunion activities will be private.
