Jordan JANKOWSKI

Peters Township • Pitcher-Catcher • Senior

One of the best power hitters in WPIAL history. "I don't know if anyone around this league ever did what he did in terms of power," said Peters Township coach Joe Maize. Jankowski finished his career with 36 home runs, believed to be a WPIAL record. Also had 132 career RBIs. This season, hit .540 (34 for 63) with eight doubles, nine home runs and 35 RBIs. Had slugging percentage of 1.095 and .701 on-base percentage. Also turned into a standout pitcher this season for WPIAL AAAA champion, going 6-1 with 73 strikeouts in 49 innings and an ERA of 2.00. Has signed with Miami (Ohio), but also was drafted in 34th round by Houston Astros.

Cory MAZZONI

Seneca Valley • Pitcher-First base • Senior

Was Post-Gazette Player of the Year in 2007. This season, right-hander was 7-2 with a 1.13 ERA. Struck out 89 in 55 2/3 innings and allowed only 21 hits. Was 18-2 past two seasons. Signed with North Carolina State. Drafted in 26th round by Washington Nationals.

Zak SINCLAIR

West Allegheny • Pitcher • Senior

Standout right-handed pitcher who was 8-2 with 1.29 ERA for two-time WPIAL AAA champion. Struck out 97 in 59 2/3 innings and allowed only 29 hits. Also hit .382 with six doubles, nine home runs and 24 RBIs. Signed with N.C. State. Also drafted by Red Sox in 34th round.

Quentin WILLIAMS

Central Catholic • Outfielder-Pitcher • Senior

A football standout who excelled on the diamond. Hit .536 with three doubles, five triples, two home runs and 23 RBIs. As a pitcher, had 2-2 record with 1.22 ERA. Was drafted in 38th round by Toronto Blue Jays. But has football scholarship to Northwestern.

Scott McGOUGH

Plum • Shortstop-Pitcher • Senior

An excellent defensive shortstop, but McGough also batted .413 with three triples for WPIAL Class AAAA runner-up. Had 27 stolen bases. Also hard-throwing pitcher. 46th-round draft pick of Pirates. But has signed to play at the University of Oregon.

Jim RIDER

Peters Township • Shortstop • Senior

One of the best defensive shortstops in Western Pennsylvania. Has tremendous range to field balls in the hole. Also batted .361 with eight doubles, one triple, one home run for WPIAL Class AAAA champion Indians. Will play next season at Kent State.

Manny CUTLIP

Beaver • Pitcher-Shortstop • Senior

Manny being Manny was one of the main reasons Beaver won the WPIAL Class AA title. Led WPIAL in hitting during regular season and finished with .603 average, five home runs, 35 RBIs and 40 runs scored. Was 8-0 as pitcher with 84 strikeouts. Will play football at IUP.

Derek LAW

Seton-LaSalle • Pitcher • Junior

Every time a Seton-LaSalle opponent fought the Law, the Law won. Had 8-0 record this season and averaged almost two strikeouts an inning, with 132 in 67 innings. Gave up only 35 hits and ERA was 0.94. Also hit .418 with 22 RBIs and 15 runs scored.

Mike DEVINE

Springdale • Pitcher-Shortstop • Senior

Springdale used Devine intervention often. Devine batted .475 and was third in the WPIAL in RBIs with 37. Also had five doubles and three triples. Had 6-1 pitching record with no-hitter vs. Serra, and 57 strikeouts in 39 1/3 innings. Will play next season at VMI.

Derrik ZEROSKI

West Allegheny • Shortstop-Pitcher • Senior

Good defensive player with excellent arm. Also hit .372 with 10 doubles, two triples and 26 RBIs for WPIAL Class AAA champion. Also had successful season pitching with 6-0 record, 1.63 ERA and 59 strikeouts in 38 2/3 innings. Will play at Duquesne.
