Another in a series of blasts is scheduled for 9 a.m. today as part of the hillside stabilization project along Route 28 south in Harmar -- weather permitting.
Traffic is to be stopped in both directions at 8:55 a.m. on Route 28 as well as on parallel Freeport Road. If all goes well, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will start reopening the roads about an hour later, although it could be early afternoon before Route 28 is reopened in the southbound direction.
PennDOT's contractor is scheduled to blast a 500-foot section about halfway up the hillside in the slide-prone area.
