The Western Pennsylvania Unit of the Herb Society of America will sponsor an herb sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. next Saturday at the plaza storefront next to Trader Joe's in East Liberty. Herb plants, books and other items will be for sale.

The Greater Pittsburgh Dahlia Society will hold its annual Root and Plant Auction at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow in the Munhall Borough Building, Second Floor. Many sizes and varieties of dahlias will be available. Members will be on hand to discuss growing and exhibiting of dahlias.

The Edgewood Garden Club will hold a plant sale from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at Memorial Park in Edgewood. Perennials, shade plants, herbs and tomatoes will be available for purchase.

Trax Farms in Finleyville will host two lectures by rose experts Josh Cole of Star Roses and Doug Ford of Jackson & Perkins. Mr. Cole will appear at 10 a.m. today and Mr. Ford will speak at 1 p.m. tomorrow. All roses will be discounted by 20 percent during the two-day event.
