Clairton schools dismiss early due to power problem
Monday, May 12, 2008

Students in the Clairton City School District have been dismissed early because of electrical problems at the Clairton Education Center at 501 Waddell Ave. that houses all grades.

High school and middle school students have already been dismissed and most elementary school students likewise had left the building. Authorities were in the process of contacting elementary school parents and guardians of those students who remained.

Duquesne Light Co. said an equipment problem affected customers in Clairton for a short time this afternoon but the problem has been corrected.
