The Allegheny County Coroner's office this morning identified the victim of last's night's fatal shooting in the Hill District.

Maurice Wright, 18, of the Hill, was killed in a volley of shots in the 2100 block of Bentley Drive around 9 p.m., according to Lt. Dan Herrmann of the Major Crimes unit.

According to police, Mr. Wright was shot several times along a sidewalk near the Terrace Village Housing project.

"Upon there arrival they found a black male who was lying between the 2100 and 2300," said Lt. Hermann. "Multiple shots had been fired and we're investigating and we're following any leads we possible can get up here at the time, and we're processing the scene."

An autopsy will be conducted today.
