Hilton to build 2 hotels
Saturday, May 10, 2008

The Hilton Hotel chain will build two new hotels near FedEx Ground and Glaxo-Smith Kline in Moon.

Developer Sam DiCicco said at an Airport Area Chamber of Commerce breakfast yesterday that he had gotten confirmation Thursday that the hotel chain would build a 128-room Hilton Gardens Inn and a 121-room Homewood Suites hotel.

The two hotels will be separate, but will share services, Mr. Dicicco said.

The hotels will occupy about 11 acres of a 22-acre site being marketed as the Millennium Business Park.

Mr. DiCicco said the remainder of the site would be used for office space, either a build-to-suit project or a four-story, 104,000-square-foot spec building.

Mr. DeCicco said the hotels were in the architectural and site-design stage, with an expected opening in 2009. The office space will be built later, he said.
