ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Pirate second baseman Freddy Sanchez, bothered by pain in his right shoulder, will be examined by Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham, Ala., Monday. Sanchez will fly to Birmingham tomorrow and return to Bradenton Tuesday.
The pain is not related to Sanchez's shoulder surgery Sept. 28. This pain was created by the work Sanchez did to come back from the shoulder surgery.
Sanchez has inflammation and tendinitis in his right rotator cuff. It isn't clear whether he'll need additional surgery.
