Sloppy rush hour, evening snow in forecast
Tuesday, February 26, 2008

The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has issued a hazardous weather outlook for this afternoon and this evening, when this afternoon's rain and fog is expected to change to snow and wind starting around rush hour.

Point Park University has already announced the school will close at 4 p.m. today and night classes have been canceled.

The weather service said winds were to pick up to 15 mph this afternoon following steady rain and areas of fog.

Snow showers were expected to begin early this evening, with accumulations of one to three inches. Temperatures were expected to drop to around 20, and wind gusts of 30 mph were possible.

Snow is likely tomorrow morning, followed by scattered snow showers. An additional inch of snow is possible.

The temperature is expected to remain around 20 tomorrow.

A mix of snow and rain this morning prompted a host of school delays.
