Snow expected to move in, impact morning commute, schools
Wednesday, February 20, 2008

It might be a good idea to get an early start this morning.

Snow showers moving in from the southwest will begin to impact the commute to work and school sometime around 8 a.m.

Expect snow to impact Washington and Greene counties before moving across the areas closer to Pittsburgh.

The heaviest snow should fall to the south of Pittsburgh, in counties such as Somerset, Washington, Greene and Fayette, and in Preston County, W.Va., and Garrett County, Md. Counties to the north of the city will see lighter snowfall.

Along with the snow, the region is experiencing temperatures in the teens this morning. Daytime temperatures will reach into the 20s, but lunar eclipse watchers tonight will face temperatures around 12 with winds from the northwest at 10 to 15 mph.
