Allegheny County on Monday updated its preliminary results and confirmed vote totals for the March 13 special election in Pennsylvania’s 18th Congressional District.
Democrat Conor Lamb, who won the election by 755 votes, won the county by about 15,000 votes over Republican Rick Saccone, according to the results that will become official April 2.
The county elections division tallied 58,874 votes for Mr. Lamb and 43,398 for Mr. Saccone. Libertarian Drew Miller received 526 votes, and there also were 45 write-ins.
The vote totals show that nearly half of the registered voters in the 18th District in the county cast a ballot. Out of 214,772 registered voters, 103,198 cast ballots.
Other counties in the 18th District weren’t as friendly to Mr. Lamb.
Mr. Saccone won Westmoreland County 40,951 votes to 30,449; Washington County 26,198 to 22,757; and Greene County 2,800 to 2,022.
Mr. Saccone conceded the race to Mr. Lamb on March 21, about two weeks after the election.
