A minivan crashed Wednesday morning into the wall of Homewood Cemetery in Point Breeze, injuring the driver, who was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
The crash happened just after 11 a.m. in the 600 block of South Lang Avenue.
Pittsburgh police said the male driver was the only occupant of the vehicle. He was briefly entrapped, police said, and the vehicle caught fire as he was being freed by paramedics.
The blaze was quickly put out.
Police are investigating and do not know why the minivan ran into the cemetery wall.
Homewood Cemetery did not immediately have any information about the nature or extent of damage to cemetery property.
