There were no injuries after Pittsburgh firefighters responded to a second-alarm residential structure fire in Pittsburgh’s Hazelwood neighborhood on Thursday afternoon.
Firefighters responded to a row house the 200 block of Glenwood Avenue at about 1:40 p.m. and were able to extinguish the flames in a short period of time, according to public safety officials.
No residents or firefighters were hurt or transported to the hospital. Firefighters did rescue a cat and a dog, however — Pittsburgh EMS administered oxygen to the cat before reuniting it with its owner.
Officials said that seven people were displaced due to the blaze. They are receiving temporary housing assistance from the Red Cross.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, and officials are determining the structural integrity of the affected buildings.
