Marie E. Horton, the widow of a Union Railroad man, turned 100 years old on April 21.
She was born on April 21, 1916, in Kalvesta, Kans., the sixth of Leslie and Clara Wheeler’s nine children. She graduated from Fairview Elementary and Garden City High School, both in Kansas.
On Oct. 2, 1938, she married Wayne P. Horton and they had five children: Alice Saxman of Brookville, Pa., Allen Horton of Monroeville, Lois Cecil of Delmont, Leslie Horton of Glenmoore, Pa., and Paul Horton of Fountain, Colo.
The family lived in Monroeville and Mrs. Horton was a homemaker who enjoyed quilting, crocheting and sewing. She is a member of McMasters United Methodist Church and Monroeville Senior Citizens. She has 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
